Thymosin Beta 4 (Tb-4 or TB 500) is a 43 amino acid, water-soluble peptide hormone that is naturally secreted from the thymus gland.
Thymosin Beta 4 has been found to play an important role in protection, regeneration, and remodeling of injured or damaged tissues.
Ongoing research shows Tβ -4 has a wide range of powerful regenerative properties including: blood vessel formation, cellular migration, and stem cell maturation. Its primary function is to stimulate the production of our important immune system cells called T-cells. One of the main mechanisms of action of Tβ -4 is its regulation of Actin, a cell-building protein used in tissue repair. Therefore, Tβ-4 has been found to play an important role in protection, regeneration, and remodeling of injured or damaged tissues. After an injury, Tβ-4 is released by platelets and other types of cells to protect damaged cells and tissues as well as to reduce inflammation and microbial growth. Both synthetic and recombinant forms of Tβ -4 have been shown to be effective for wound healing in clinical trials involving human patients.
