The Urea Cycle is a system in the liver that converts nitrogen waste into urea and eliminates it from the body. L-Arginine is essential for the muscle cells to produce creatine, a compound needed for muscle contraction. L-Citrulline's benefits stem primarily from its ability to increase levels of Arginine. In the body, citrulline is converted to the amino acid arginine, thus raising plasma and tissue levels of arginine and enhancing nitric oxide production.
