Semaglutide is a peptide that mimics the hormone glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) that is produced in the small intestine and targets areas of the brain that regulate appetite, food intake and improving sugar metabolism.
Studies show that Semaglutide can help with weight loss by reducing appetite, improving control of eating, and reducing food cravings when paired with reduced calorie intake and exercise. Since 2017, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Semaglutide injections under the brand names Ozempic and Wegovy for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related medical condition (such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol).

Tips for Taking Semaglutide You can take Semaglutide with or without food If you need to change the day of the week, you may do so if your last dose of Semaglutide was given 2 or more days before What to Do if You Miss a Dose If you miss a dose of Semaglutide and the next scheduled dose is more than 2 days away (>48 hours), take the missed dose as soon as possible If you miss a dose of Semaglutide and the next scheduled dose is less than 2 days away (<48 hours), do not administer the dose.
